The Society for Microbial Ecology and Disease (SOMED) is an international, non-profit scientific society dedicated to advancing knowledge, research and collaboration in microbial ecology and its relationship to human health and disease.
SOMED promotes scientific knowledge, encourages research and technological development, disseminates information, brings together professionals working in the field and supports cooperation with national and international scientific organizations.
Researchers, clinicians, academics, students and other professionals with an interest in microbial ecology, microbiology and related biomedical sciences are encouraged to become part of the SOMED scientific community.
To become a member, visit the Join SOMED page and submit the membership application form. The Society will then provide any further information required to complete the membership process.
