The Society for Microbial Ecology and Disease (SOMED) established a collaboration with the international scientific journal Microorganisms.
The affiliation was formalized through an agreement signed in February 2022 by Professor Eugenia Bezirtzoglou, President of SOMED, and Unai Vicario, Publisher at MDPI.

Microorganisms (ISSN 2076-2607) is an international, peer-reviewed, open access journal providing a scientific forum for research related to prokaryotic and eukaryotic microorganisms, viruses and prions.
The journal publishes original scientific research articles, comprehensive reviews, comments, commentaries, perspectives and other contributions covering a broad range of topics in microbiology.
